Jia Ern
Jia Ern’s first encounter with yoga was at the age of 15 years old when she was brought to a yoga practice session in Ipoh by her mother. She enjoys the effects of the practice on the body after each practice session. After about a year, she picked up Hatha yoga from an instructor who was trained in the USA. As she had to leave home for university studies, she started self-practicing. In 2013, she completed a pre-natal teachers’ training course with Malaysian Association of Yoga Instructor (MAYI).
Her teachers’ training with Sebastian Pucelle and Murielle Burellier of With-Yin Yoga on Yin Yoga and Anatomy in January 2016 had propelled her into further search of answers for this ancient art. She went on to complete 200-Hr teacher training course with Yogshakti under Shilpa Ghatalia in Integrative Yoga.
She enjoys regular HIIT & Latin dance to accommodate the Yang side of her. She continues to undertake yoga studies and post graduate-training to refine her practice.
Jia Ern’s yoga classes is the synthesis of Yang and Yin yoga emphasizing motion from the spine as inspired by Integrative Yoga & Vanda Scaraveli- which allow students to “sweat it out” and ultimately drop into stillness for relaxation & meditation, returning back to the roots of yoga.
Jia Ern firmly believes that learning is perpetual and the practice on the mat is the reflection of life. As her teacher puts it:” the more you learn, the lesser you know.”
